matter concerning a disputed large shipment of cold rolled coils. The matter went to
arbitration in India where the expert evidence was given and accepted.

Contract research into the root causes of self-heating of Direct Reduced Iron in the
light of recurring problems in DRI shipments from CIS ports.

Interruption of Continuous Process Plant
Following a major incident on a continuous process plant, CWA was instructed to do a
review of standard methodologies for ramp-up business interruption claims and evaluation
of business interruption quantum for continuous process plant during start up.
Cargo Liquefaction

Expert assistance was provided in a number incidents concerning bulk solid cargo
liquefaction for commodities containing sulphur and base metal concentrates.
In the light of this experience CWA was called upon to review shipping
procedures.
Cargo Contamination

CWA has provided technical assistance in contaminated cargo treatment and
undertaken forensic analysis of the causes of contamination with support on the commercial
front by assisting in disposing off-specification cargoes.
Long Term
Storage of Copper Concentrates
CWA was called upon to advise on the effects of long term storage of copper
concentrates following the grounding of, and subsequent length repairs to a bulk carrier.
Potash
CWA was retained to inspect a cargo of potash which, on arrival showed
evidence of water ingress. CWA was involved in the loss mitigation and arranged for the
material to be treated locally.
