External Consultant. Master Mariner with extensive international experience
of the investigation and analysis of marine casualties, ship and cargo damage incidents, advising on ship
safety management, spanning the full range of vessel types; highly experienced in meeting the exacting
requirements of the international insurance and legal markets; expert witness, closely associated with
CWA over 20 years. Coming ashore as a marine consultant and surveyor he worked in London for CWA over the following nine years and was instructed by the majority of the P&I Clubs and most prominent law firms in a wide variety of matters including attendances for collisions, groundings, oil pollution, fire and explosion incidents, cargo damage, salvage and wreck removal operations, advice on ship safety and loss prevention issues. During this period he was regularly instructed by London lawyers to prepare expert evidence. He is an experienced expert witness. He moved to Dubai and continued with similar work involving a very wide range of casualty, oil pollution, ship and cargo damage incidents, spanning bulk, break bulk and containerised trades. He investigated a number of fire/explosion casualties during the Iran/Iraq conflict in the late '80s. He opened his own marine consultancy practice in 1995 which operated successfully in the same area for four years. Recently his firm in Dubai was amalgamated with and manned by Aquarius International Consultants as part of their expanding international association of marine consultancies. He returned to England as a Director of Aquarius International Consultants, London and attended a number of significant casualty incidents during 1999 and 2000.
