Current Position at CWA

External Consultant with CWA Minerals Department.   Fertiliser specialist.  Ex-ICI technical specialist with expertise on all types of fertiliser, their manufacture, quality control, handling and transport.

Summary of Previous Employment

1999 to present
Since leaving full time employment, work has been performed as an independent consultant in a number of areas, primarily in the field of fertiliser quality. Quality problems involving all the main types of commercial fertiliser (NPK, urea, ammonium nitrate, phosphate rock and potash) have been investigated. Overseas visits have been performed when necessary. Although most problems have been resolved by technical and/or commercial discussions it has also been necessary to appear in the High Court as an expert witness.

Recognised as company expert in all aspects of fertilizer technology (Manufacture of Nitric Acid, Ammonium nitrate, Urea, NPK fertilizer by granulation and by blending)

Participant in European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association (EFMA) work in the field of fertilizer plant effluents. Team member for the IPPC BAT Reference work on ammonia production. Author of the EFMA booklet on ammonium nitrate plant effluents
