David Jones joined CWA in 1988 as a
senior member of staff in the Oil and Chemical Department and was
appointed a Director of the Company in 1992. Responsible for much
of our work concerning chemicals and petrochemicals, David deals with a
wide range of quality control matters, technical investigations,
laboratory testing and specialist surveys in the processing, storage
and carriage of petrochemicals, gas and chemicals. He possesses
expertise in depth on cargo handling procedures on chemical
tankers. He also co-ordinates CWA’s dangerous goods advisory
services. He is an experienced Expert Witness. David
participates on a loss prevention committee at the Energy Institute and
is retained by several major industrial concerns to provide trouble
shooting advice on petrochemical quality control. David is also
experienced in the shipment of edible oils and co-ordinates the
Company's membership of FOSFA. Working with specialist
consultants, David uses his considerable expertise on tank coatings and
corrosion arising from the carriage of various cargoes and advises on
associated tank washing operations. David is thoroughly familiar
with modern analytical techniques and is frequently called upon to
supervise specialist laboratories for forensic testing and evaluation

Summary of Previous Employment Following graduation from the University of Aston, David gained 14 years industrial experience as an analytical chemist, attaining the post of Laboratory Section Leader in a firm of consultant analysts, Bostock Hill and Rigby (Clayton Environmental), dealing in the analysis of water, wastewater, industrial effluents, fuels, Consultancy projects undertaken in the disciplines of waste disposal/treatment and reclamation, industrial pollution abatement monitoring and control.From 1983-1988, with Watson Gray (Saudi Arabia) Ltd; appointed Laboratory Manager of the Ras Tanura Laboratory, responsible for the analysis of crude oil, petroleum products, fuel and lube oils exported from the Ports of Yanbu, Ras Tanura, Ju'aymah and Al Jubail. In 1982 he was appointed as shift supervisor in the ARAMCO Ju'aymah Fractionation Plant (Gas Plant) Laboratory, Saudi Arabia, responsible for the day to day quality control of plant operations and non-routine trouble shooting.
