Anthony Severn

Anthony Severn - Director
Fellow of the Institute of Energy, longserving member of its Oil Loss Control Committee, and Associate Member of the Nautical Institute. Joined CWA in 1983, following an early career as a tanker officer. Expert in oil claims, contamination matters, analysis of tanker, gas carrier and oil terminal operations, and advises on cargoes of crude/petroleum products, liquid gases and bulk liquids. David Jones

David Jones - Director
A Chartered Chemist, Fellow of the Institute of Energy and member of the Institute of Corrosion. Joined CWA in 1988 as a highly experienced chemist/surveyor with expertise in all aspects of quality control of petrochemicals and chemicals, tank inspection, coatings and corrosion issues and forensic laboratory analysis concerning contamination incidents. Experienced in marine casualties involving salvage of chemicals, loss mitigation and environmental impact.

Dr Sheila Marshman - Senior Consultant
Chartered Chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Has consulted with CWA since 2004, bringing with her a highly specialised knowledge in the field of distillate products, fuels and lubricants analysis, testing and research. With more than 30 years experience, has developed innovative laboratory techniques for engine performance testing.

Background

Oil, Gas & Chemicals - Tank Farm

CWA Oil, Gas & Chemicals has its origins dating from the founding of the company in 1978. This is a highly experienced group of petrochemists, oil surveyors and ex-tanker officers together with technical specialists in the hydrocarbon processing industries and oil trading. The group provides a comprehensive service on all types of claims and incident investigations within the oil industry sector.

Much of the work is involved with contamination and other quality issues, oil loss investigations and operational audits of marine tankers, gas carriers, oil storage terminals and refinery plant. The group is also engaged in risk, safety and environmental projects.
