Agronomist (Postgraduate)

We are an established team of consulting experts with a track record exceeding 30 years of providing scientific technical advice in the context of international shipping and the allied commodity trade.

The CWA Food Department is involved with world-wide investigations into the loss and damage to consignments of food on a daily basis and the successful application will be called upon to address matters of causation, mitigation and prevention of loss. The assignments undertaken can involve any stage of the agricultural and transportation processes, from the initial harvesting, through to the transporting, to the processing, to the delivery of the end product to the consumer.

The successful applicant would put their broad scientific knowledge to practical use in the investigation of the cause of loss and damage to consignments of food and dry bulk commodities. The investigations may be based on documentation received, but they will often require world-wide travel to investigate matters in-situ, be it at warehouse, at port or onboard a vessel.

The successful applicant will benefit from initial training and mentoring. The position is full time and based in central London. Flexibility to travel internationally at short notice is required (up to 10 weeks/yr). Competitive salary to match experience with the benefit of an established productivity bonus scheme. Further information about the firm and its activities can be found on this website,
